In Vitro Propagation of Two Tomato Hybrids (Lycopersicon Esculentum Mill.) Via Tissue Culture Technique

This investigation was carried out at the Tissue Culture Lab., Biotechnology Research Center (BTRC) in Tripoli, Libya 2009 to establish a micro propagation protocol for two hybrids of Tomato which several factors were studied including effect concentration growth regulator on shoot multiplication, and rooting explant MS media. Shoot tips cultured into (MS medium) with different concentrations benzyl adenine (BA) + 0.5 mg/l (IAA) compared basal medium as control treatment. Generally, results showed that there no significant differences between (BA+IAA) number leaves length. The obtained illustrated M1 gave high shoots/explant, length, 1.90, 3.89, 4.48 respectively control. length shoots. best result hybrid HH-56 4.54 leaves. From foregoing results, media supplementing IAA 0.2 treatment stage Hybrid AZHAR F1. plantlets transferred plastic cups containing peatmoss sand 1:1 (V/V). Acclimatization successfully.
